Corporate Communications (Tas) Pty Ltd (CCTas), is the Tasmanian partner of international PR firm Porter Novelli.

"We deliver for our clients in timely and proficient manner. We manage projects rigorously at all times adhering to the stringent ethics of our profession. As an accredited public relations consultancy - the only accredited public relations consultancy in Tasmania - we meet the stringent requirements of the Public Relations Institute of Australia’s (PRIA) national Registered Consultancy Group," it states on its website.[1]

"Tasmanians for a Better Future" Controversy

Immediately prior to the 2006 Tasmanian state election, CCTas ran a series of ads for a secretive group of businessmen calling themselves "Tasmanians for a Better Future". The ads attacked the Tasmanian Greens and advocated the return of 'majority' government, which in effect meant urging a vote for the incumbent Labor government. The ads were particularly controversial because CCTas refused to reveal the who had funded them.[2]

Personnel

CCTas no longer discloses who works for it on its website. However, a list provided on the company's website in 2006 listed the following staff.[3]

Clients

In 2003 CCTas won a PR Week Asia Pacific international award for their work on the "transfer of the environmental licence from the holding company of the former Tioxide site at Heybridge to Echo Tasmania".[4]
