Colin Rajah

Colin Rajah, "a Fellow at the Oakland Institute, is the Director of the International Migrant Rights and Global Justice Program at the National Network for Immigrant and Refugee Rights (NNIRR), a U.S. network of immigrant community organizations based in Oakland, California.

"A political refugee from Malaysia, Rajah has been an activist-organizer for over 2 decades in Asia and the U.S. He speaks regularly at forums and conferences around the country and the globe, and has authored dozens of articles and publications on migrant rights, international trade and globalization, international grassroots solidarity, and especially on how trade and globalization is interlinked with migration and migrant rights. Rajah is currently authoring a publication that analyzes the intersectionalities of trade and migration policies across the globe, through a human rights lens.

"Rajah recently co-chaired the International Planning Committee for the Civil Society Forum during the United Nations High Level Dialogue on Migration and Development. He currently serves on the Steering Committee of Migrant Rights International (MRI), on the U.S. Social Forum National Planning Committee, and on the Executive Committee of the Grassroots Global Justice (GGJ) Alliance. In addition to being a co-founder and former Steering Committee member of the Bay Area-based Malaysia Forum, he also sits on the Board of the Mario Savio Memorial Lecture Fund."
