In July 2004 the egineering and construction company, Balfour Beatty announced that after 18 years it had dropped Citigate Dewe Rogerson. (It has hired Gainsborough Communications instead to handle financial and corporate communications. Balfour Beatty is a major beneficiary of the growth in 'public-private partnerships' in public infrastructure. [2]
While CDR lost the Balfour Beatty account, the same month it won a new account with the British Wind Energy Association (BWEA) to counter opposition to the construction of major wind farms in the UK. Opposition to the windfarms centers on concerns about their impact on aesthetic values and potential impacts on birds. [3]
