Christopher D. Seiple

Biographical Information

"Christopher D. Seiple is the Managing Director of North American Power at Genscape. Mr. Seiple has nearly two decades of experience managing energy information businesses and providing strategy and market analysis advice for gas and power sector companies. Prior to joining Genscape, Mr. Seiple was a Senior Vice President at GE Energy Financial Services (EFS). Mr. Seiple was first responsible, as SVP of Investment Strategy, for developing a growth strategy for debt and equity power investments, determining key investment regions, technologies, partners, customers, and ways to differentiate GE’s capital. Mr. Seiple then became the SVP of Operations and Development, serving as the general manager of a 2,500 MW portfolio of power and transmission assets owned by GE EFS located in Florida, New Jersey, Virginia, and Wisconsin. Mr. Seiple’s responsibilities including overseeing the construction and start-up of Linden VFT, the first merchant transmission project in the US.

"Prior to joining EFS, Mr. Seiple led Cambridge Energy Research Associates (CERA) operations and research in Europe, Russia, and the Caspian region. In this capacity, he oversaw CERA’s research on European Gas & Power issues and the Russian and Caspian energy industry. At CERA he was previously responsible for CERA’s research on liquefied natural gas, emerging power generation technologies, environmental issues, and global power issues. During his tensure at CERA, he also led numerous strategy engagements with gas & power company clients and financial institutions and frequently made presentations to senior executives and boards of directors on global energy industry trends.

"Mr. Seiple began his career at Resource Data International (acquired by FT Energy and later McGraw Hill), where he ultimately led the US gas, coal, and power consulting practices, focusing on policy and market analysis.

Mr. Seiple is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Muhlenberg College and holds a Master of Energy Management and Policy from the University of Pennsylvania and the French Petroleum Institute."
