Christine Mataya

Christine Mataya is a senior research associate with Foundation for Environmental Security and Sustainability. "She brings more than seven years of experience in program design, strategic planning, evaluation, management, and training with a focus on democracy building. Ms. Mataya also has experience with U.S. and multilateral development priorities, strategies, and funding processes. Prior to joining FESS, Ms. Mataya held program management positions with the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs and the American Bar Association's Section of International Law and Practice. With FESS, Ms. Mataya served as chief researcher for the organization's first pilot study of its Environmental Security Assessment Framework (ESAF) in Nepal and has contributed to the ongoing refinement of the framework. She also conducts research and analysis in support of FESS country studies and related project activities. Ms. Mataya holds a bachelors degree in international relations from the American University in Washington, D.C. and she is currently pursuing a master of public policy degree at George Mason University."
