Christian Whiton is a principal at DC International Advisory. He previously served as a U.S. State Department official from 2003-2009, first as a special advisor to the Under Secretary of State for Global Affairs, and then as a deputy special envoy. Mr. Whiton advised the Under Secretary on strategic communications and public affairs. He managed the Office of the Special Envoy, and acted as the senior policy advisor on North Korean human rights and transnational issues, interacting extensively with Asian and European government and numerous international organizations. Before joining the State Department, Mr. Whiton worked for the corporate finance practice of KPMG LLP, overseeing daily activities of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) engagements and other financial consulting projects. Mr. Whiton cofounded and presently serves as chairman of the board of the Hamilton Foundation, a not-for-profit policy research organization. He co-authored the monograph “Fixing Foreign Aid: The Missing Middle.” Mr. Whiton received undergraduate degrees in History and Economics from Tulane University. He holds an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management. He appears frequently on the Fox News Channel. His articles have been published by Fox News Opinion, the Wall Street Journal, TIME, the Daily Caller and numerous other publications.
