Charles R. Hale is Professor of Anthropology at the University of Texas at Austin and specializes in social and activist anthropology. He received his Ph.D. from Stanford University. His research interests include race/ethnicity, identity politics, consciousness and resistance, activist anthropology, Latin America, and the Caribbean. One of his latest publications is Más que un Indio: Racial Ambivalence and Neoliberal Multiculturalism in Guatemala. Hale is recent past President of the Latin American Studies Association." [1]
