The Centre for Orangutan Protection (COP) "was formed as a spontaneous respond on the orangutan slaughtering as a consequence of conversion from forest to palm oil plantation in Kalimantan. The solid and focus movement was needed to face the criminals in the name of economic development and community empowerment.
"Hardi Baktiantoro, the founder of COP had lived nightmarish life during March 2005 - March 2006 when he worked as Vice Manager for Orangutan Reintroduction Center in Nyarumenteng / BOS Nyarumenteng." [1]
