The Centre for Corporate Public Affairs (CCPA) is a Melbourne-based training organisation for public relations staff from corporations, industry associations and government agencies.

History

The centre was established in 1990 by Geoff Allen as a training offshoot from his consultancy company The Allen Consulting Group. While the Public Relations Institute of Australia - the largest professional body for PR practitioners - is based on individual members, membership of the CCPA is restricted to organisations.

"The Centre has more than 100 members from the ranks of corporate Australia, industry associations and government business enterprises," it states on its website.

Since 1990 the CCPA has organised annual multi-day conferences for PR managers from corporations and government agencies. In May 2005 CCPA joined with the U.S.-based Public Affairs Council to organise the first training conference for PR managers from the Asia-Pacific region.
