Cecilia Medina

Prof. Cecilia Medina Ouiroga became a member of the International Commission of Jurists "in February 2004. She is a Professor at the University of Chile and the founder of its Centre for Human Rights. She was elected to the Inter-American Court of Human Rights in 2004. From 1995-2002 she was a member of the UN Human Rights Committee, which she also chaired from 1999-2000. She is a well-known human rights academic and has published a book on the Inter-American system of human rights. She has conducted courses on human rights for the judiciary in Latin America." [1]
