"The Institute was launched in August 2004 and given the name, The Carrick Institute for Learning and Teaching in Higher Education.
"Sir John Carrick KCMG was the Commonwealth Minister for Education between 1975 and 1979. His important contributions to education were recognised through the Centenary Medal for outstanding leadership and service to the Australian community, especially through education." [1]
Richard Johnstone was appointed Executive Director of The Carrick Institute in 2005 and took up the role on 28 November of that year.
