Biographical Information

" Caroline is a qualified social worker who initially worked with disabled children and adults early in her career, and has continued to seek out opportunities to do this over a period of 25 years. She has worked in the voluntary sector for over 20 years within children’s charities in the West Midlands area. During her 12 years working for Action for Children she managed a multiagency centre providing services to disabled children and families, and as a Group Manager of Children’s Services had responsibility for a range of short break services and children’s centres. She was seconded for three years as part of a small team to respond the Aiming High for Disabled Children initiative on a national basis, and extended the quantity and range of short break services provided. During this time she promoted the inclusion of disabled children in mainstream services, challenging assumptions and enabling the development of staff skills. Caroline also has extensive experience in the management of children’s centres." [1]
