Caroline Casagrande is a Republican member of the New Jersey state Assembly. She sits on the Judiciary, Regulatory Oversight and Gaming, and State Government Committees.[1]

In 2010, Casagrande introduced A. 1626. This bill provides a gross income tax credit of up to $7,500 for qualified home purchases made by certain first-time home-buyers. Under the bill, qualified taxpayers can take 10 percent off their qualified home purchase price or $7,500, whichever is less, as a refundable credit under the gross income tax. The ALEC model legislation, "The Real Estate and Economic Growth Resolution," provides for a tax credit for first-time home-buyers. According to the resolution: "tax credits for first-time home buyers should be enacted to spur the economy and enable millions of Americans to afford their own homes."[2][3]
