Biographical Information

Carole Osero-Ageng'o is the senior program officer for Africa in the International Women's Program of the Open Society Initiative for Eastern Africa "responsible for designing and monitoring IWP's Africa grant portfolio. Ageng'o was previously Equality Now's Africa Program Officer in the Nairobi office, where she managed a fund promoting women's rights in sixteen African countries. She also undertook advocacy with the African Union on the Protocol on the Rights of Women and the UN on the appointment of a Special Rapporteur on laws that discriminate against women. She also worked as a legal aid lawyer with FIDA Kenya and most recently headed Tomorrow's Child Initiative, a youth organization. Ageng'o holds an MA in international conflict management and a law degree from the University of Nairobi." [1]
