Carol A. Miller

Biographical Information

From 2002: "Carol A. Miller has recently joined Save the Children as Associate Vice President for Public Policy and Advocacy. In this role, she will be responsible for helping us develop and implement an advocacy and public policy strategy designed to complement our programmatic efforts to improve the lives of children in need in the United States and around the world.

"Carol Miller joins the agency with over 15 years of experience working on health issues affecting women and children around the world. Before coming to Save the Children, she served as the Director of Public Policy for the Global Health Council. Working with the CEO and board of directors, Miller established a policy and advocacy program furthering the Council's agenda in reproductive health, maternal health, child survival, HIV/AIDS and infectious diseases control. She has worked extensively with the international development community in the United States as well as overseas, encouraging women to take an active role in their societies. During her four years working in Turkey, Miller helped establish the first Turkish non-governmental organization (NGO) Advocacy Network for Women (KIDOG). She also worked for Senator Olympia Snowe (then Representative) to build a women's health agenda through the Congressional Caucus for Women's Issues.

"Ms. Miller holds a Master's in Public Health from the University of Michigan and was awarded the first Charles F. Brush International Family Planning Scholarship. Miller now serves on the board of the Charles F. Brush Foundation. "
