Biographical Information
"Carol A. Locke, M.D is the co-founder and director of the Center for Creating Health... Health has been a focus of Dr. Locke’s work since her fieldwork in the Fiji Islands while at UC Berkeley. In Fiji she studied the health beliefs, health system, the natural plants that were used to treat ailments and the ways in that health was created and perceived. She was awarded Highest Honors for her thesis The Meaning of Health in a Fijian Village... In 1997 she fell in love with the science of Omega-3 essential fatty acids and their importance in both mood disorders and overall health... 1997 she began to formulate the first true high concentrate, high purity omega-3 supplement for the public. She launched OmegaBrite in 1999 and created Omega Natural Science, Inc in 2000 to further bring Omega-3 science and health benefits to the public... Dr. Locke’s commitment to wellness, her clinical expertise, her visionary development of natural products for health and her philanthropic efforts have been recognized with membership by prestigious organizations such as the Women's Presidents Organization and the Harvard Kennedy School of Government Women’s Leadership Board... Her deep belief is that we need to work towards conflict resolution around the world. Dr. Locke for close to 10 years has been an ardent supporter of the Harvard Kennedy School of Government Programs to promote World Peace and Women’s leadership through out the world, her work on the Women's Leadership Board and the Alliance and Women Waging Peace program.

She is married to William E. Butler, MD, a pediatric neurosurgeon at the Massachusetts General Hospital.
