{{#badges:stub}} The Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood is a nonprofit national coalition of health care professionals, educators, advocacy groups and concerned parents who work to counter the harmful effects of marketing on children through action, advocacy, education, research, and collaboration among organizations and individuals who care about children. Their mission is to reclaim childhood from corporate marketers. The Campaign's website says, "A marketing-driven media culture sells children on behaviors and values driven by the need to promote profit rather than the public good." [1] The organization opposes media violence, the sexualization of childhood, the commercialization of play, negative media influences on children's diet and body image, and pervasive efforts by marketers to insinuate brands into children’s lives.
