Biographical Information
Camila Rivera "defines herself as a “vision-grower” and “earth-activist”. She holds a BSc in Industrial Engineering from Universidad de los Andes (Colombia) and an MA in International Development from SAIS, Johns Hopkins University. She has a teaching certificate in Hatha Yoga from the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Ashram (India) and she is an active yoga practitioner and teacher. She uses sound and laughter therapy for healing purposes and is currently developing an organic farm and retreat center in the Andean mist forests near Bogotá, Colombia.
"Camila is co-founder and researcher of El Tanke, a think tank in conscious innovation for the digital era. For the past six years, she has been exploring the power of mass collaboration, social networks and the Web as a tool to spread out positive memes through inspiration. Building on several years of experience in both public and private sector leadership positions, at all levels (local, national and international) and a deep personal exploration through yoga, dance, meditation and earth-centered-practices, she now researches and writes on new ways of addressing social issues in more systemic and holistic ways and the effects of embracing new paradigms.
"Additionally Camila co-founded Neem inc. a NY based non-profit organization that brings holistic activities of healing and forgiveness to people affected by violent conflict, through a range of activities that include: yoga, meditation, expressive arts, and nutrition. Neem will start operations in Colombia in 2011. "[1]
