Biographical Information

"After being awarded an earth science doctorate in 1971 by Imperial College, Cameron has had a successful career as a geologist and manager in international exploration culminating in the discovery of a major oilfield in Tunisia. He established an offshore exploration business in 1990 later sold to a listed oil company. In 1994, he founded Alkane Energy and served as Executive Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and Business Development Director before moving to a non-executive role in 2009. During his tenure as Chief Executive Officer Alkane's revenue and profits grew rapidly.

"Cameron is a non-executive director of Ascent Resources, an exploration company with assets in Slovenia. He is also a vice-Chairman of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe's Bureau of Experts on coal mine methane."[1]
