The CFMEU Forestry & Furnishing Products Division is a section of the CFMEU is the main union covering employees in the forestry, wood processing and furnishing industries.
The forestry division of the CFMEU has 18,200 members across the country. [1]
In July 2007 the CFMEU attempted to be joined as a part to a legal case over a major pulp mill proposed by the Tasmanian forestry company, Gunns. In a last minute application the CFMEU, which has only 525 members in Tasmania, 492 of which are employed by Gunns, sought to intervene in the case. The application was rejected. [2]
