Bruce Thompson formed in 1989, together with Robert Severns and Eugene Ravizza, the first corporate board of the Alexis de Tocqueville Institution (AdTI). AdTI was founded one year before in Redwood City (CA).
Of those three people, only Eugene Ravizza is still alive. Robert Severns died on June 17, 2003 and Bruce Thompson died a few years earlier.
Gregory Fossedal wrote about Mr. Thompson:
"Bruce, more of a genius and innovator than a manager, left a confused tangle behind at his business, Pacific Western." [1]
He was also involved in the Emerging Markets Group (EMG)
"EMG was launched as a directed investment fund in 1989 with support from the late Bruce Thompson of Pacific Western Realty and the Alexis de Tocqueville Institution." [2]
