Bruce Lloyd

Bruce Lloyd "is an irrigation dairy farmer at Shepparton in southeastern Australia, who has lived on, worked on and/or owned the family farm since leaving school. He retired in 1996 after 25 years as a Member of the House of Representatives of the Federal Parliament of Australia. In Parliament he represented a rural electorate and, during that time, served as Parliamentary Secretary for Primary Industry (Agriculture), Shadow Minister (Opposition Spokesman) for a number of portfolios including Primary Industry for six years, and a member of the House of Representatives Standing Committee on the Environment. He was also Deputy Leader of the National Party for six years. Bruce is currently Chairman of the Australian Landcare Council and a member of the Natural Heritage Trust Advisory Committee, the National Gene Technology Community Consultative Committee, the National Greenhouse and Agriculture Task Force, the Plant Breeder ' s Rights Advisory Committee and the National Agricultural EMS Advisory Committee. He joined the EP Board in January 2006." [1]
