Brett Loper took over as top aide to become former House Majority Leader Thomas D. DeLay's deputy chief of staff for floor operations in October 2005, when Tim Berry departed DeLay’s office for Time Warner. The Hill reported November 28, 2005, that "DeLay is tapping Brett Loper as his new chief of staff. Loper, a Mississippi native, moves up from deputy chief of staff and top floor and legislative aide." [1]
Loper is married to Ginger G. Loper, President George W. Bush's former lobbyist "specializing on the Senate side, health care, taxes and Social Security." Ginger Loper works for the public relations firm Timmons & Company. [2]
