Biographical Information

Joined the board of the Guardian Media Group "in January 2007. Brent co-founded and was previously CEO of lastminute.com. He has worked for LineOne, Mars & Co, Spectrum Strategy Consultants and was a founder member of QXL, an online auction company. He is also a governor of University of the Arts, London." [1]

"When Hoberman floated the business in March 2000 the demand for shares was so great that the IPO was 40 times over-subscribed. lastminute.com acquired 14 businesses after the IPO in order to supplement the growth of the business which averaged over 100% annually between 1998 & 2004. In 2005 Hoberman sold lastminute.com to Sabre for $1.1bn. Hoberman is Governor of the University of the Arts College, London and a non-executive board director of Guardian Media Group. From January 2007 he took on the role of Non-Executive Chairman of Wayn.com, the travel and leisure social network with over 14.5 million members. Hoberman is also an angel investor in several internet companies including Viagogo and moveme.com." [2]

Prior to this, he had overseen the company's flotation on the London Stock Exchange in March 2000. Brent subsequently founded mydeco, the innovative online service for home design and furniture. He is a Governor of the University of the Arts, London, a non-executive director of the Guardian Media Group and TimeOut Group, a member of the Business Council for Britain and a Young Global Leader for the World Economic Forum. Brent has been a non-executive director of TalkTalk since 20 January 2010." [3]
