Brendan Sullivan is seeking pre-selection for the Labor Party for the seat of Lyons for the Tasmanian state selection in March 2010.
In July 2009 Labor Premier David Bartlett issued a media release announcing that "I offer him my support and encouragement because Brendan is the sort of person who will be a strong advocate for local communities and make a positive contribution to the Tasmanian Parliament."
"He is an active member of the State’s Surf Life Saving movement and is currently president of the Port Sorell Surf Life Saving Club. Brendan represented Tasmania as a junior footballer, played for Launceston (NTFA) and Latrobe (NWFU) and is a life member of the Port Sorell Tennis Club," Bartlett stated.
