Brenda Oppermann
Brenda Oppermann "joined USIP as chief of party of the Baghdad office in 2005. In this position, she works directly with Iraqis and oversees on-the-ground programs related to governance, mediation, and education. Previously, Oppermann was a policy advisor on gender and democracy issues with the Iraq Reconstruction Office of the U.S. Agency for International Development from 2004 to 2005, and has also developed policy and managed projects for the United Nations, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe and assorted NGOs, dealing with the rule of law, democratization, human rights, refugees/internally displaced people, gender issues, elections, humanitarian relief, and civil-military affairs.
