biometrics security system . . .

Implementation

Incheon International Airport

In September 2005, Incheon International Airport is projected to implement a biometrics security system for a test-run of one year. The system will consist of fingerprint identification and hand vascular pattern identification "to tighten security," according to the June 15, 2005, Korea Times. These two methods, considered the most reliable, were selected from four tested choices, the other two involving face and iris identification methods. [1]

The Incheon International Airport Corporation said that the system will be used in "10 places where much stricter security is needed ... [which] will include customs, immigration, quarantine, arrival and departure, government offices and offices of companies such as airlines and duty free shop operators."
