Biographical Information

Ms Beth Eggleston, Humanitarian Advocacy Coordinator, Oxfam Australia

"Beth has worked in the humanitarian sector for the last 10 years and is currently the Humanitarian Advocacy Coordinator for Oxfam Australia. Prior to this, Beth worked in Afghanistan for several years with the United Nations focusing on civil-military relations and humanitarian coordination and led engagement with NATO and the Afghan Government on these issues. Beth also worked in West Africa, coordinating the International NGO response in Liberia and developed policy for working with the newly elected Liberian administration.

"Whilst working in the Kingdom of Tonga, Beth worked in the area of community theatre for public awareness on a range of social issues including violence against women and HIV/AIDS. Beth has also worked with small local organisations in Laos PDR, Timor Leste and Afghanistan with a focus on organisational development. Beth has degrees from the University of Sydney and the University of Melbourne." [1]
