Ben Cosin

Ben Cosin was formerly Lecturer in Sociology at the School of Education, The Open University. He has contributed to such journals as Theoretical Practice, Journal for the Theory of Social Behavior, Economy and Society and Fabian Review, and is the author of such papers as "Critical Empiricism Criticized: The Case of Freud" and "Structures without Politics". He is also editor of a number of works, including Diversity and Change: Education, Policy and Selection, Education, Policy and Society: Theoretical Perspectives, School and Society: A Sociological Reader, and School, Work and Equality: A Reader. He was Secretary of Hampstead and Highgate Labour Party from 1995 to 2004 and describes himself as a "habitual renegade".
