Belvie Rooks
Biographical Information
'She is a writer, educator, and television producer. Her published works have been included in a number of books and anthologies. In 1984, Ms. Rooks also created, produced, and directed projects for theater and television. She is currently Vice President of Project Development for Carrie Productions, Danny Glover's production company. She is also currently collaborating with cosmologist Brian Swimme in the development of an online course entitled "A Sense of Self. A Sense of Place." The collaboration is a result of a workshop on "Cosmology & Race" in which they both participated.
"Ms. Rooks is a board member of Bioneers (visionary and practical solutions for restoring the earth) and the Urban Habitat Program (the oldest environmental justice organization in the country). She is also a Board Member Emeritus of the Positive Futures Network (publisher of YES! Magazine) and a founding Board member of the Friends of Creation Spirituality, founded by Matthew Fox." [1]
