Bellerive Oval Action Group is a group supporting a proposal for the installation of light towers to facilitate nighttime sports events. In late September 2008 the incoming president of the Tasmanian Cricket Association, Tony Harrison, announced that the association intended to lodge an application for the installation of the lights with the Clarence City Council.[1]

A newspaper report on the formation of the "action group" stated that it had "launched a website, a Facebook support group and a petition". The spokesperson for the group, Stephen Reid from Acton Park, stated that "we believe that Bellerive Oval urgently needs to have lights installed in order to preserve our current allocation of national and international cricket figures [sic] but also with a view to increase the number of games here."[2]
