"Barton Green has 26 years' media, marketing and business experience, providing government liaison, business and strategic planning advice to a range of Australian and multinational companies.

"He is a former Ministerial Adviser to the Queensland Minister for Environment and Heritage in the Goss Government, former Press Secretary to the President of the Queensland Teachers' Union, former Queensland Branch Secretary for the Australian Journalists Association, and has provided consulting services to the ACTU Queensland, the Department of Premier and Cabinet and the Department of Environment and Heritage. As a government specialist, Barton has provided a range of federal, State and local government liaison and strategic advice services to the private sector.

"Barton has twice been appointed to positions by the Queensland Cabinet, including as a founding member of the South East Queensland Regional Electricity Council. He is currently the Deputy Chairman of the Queensland Theatre Company.

"In 2003, Barton was awarded the Centenary Medal for “distinguished service to conservation and the environment”." [1]
