Biographical Information
"She was Director-General of the Security Service (MI5) between 2002 and 2007, leading the Service through major change. Previously she served for five years as Deputy Director-General. In earlier Board appointments she led work on countering Irish terrorism, headed the Service's interception and surveillance effort, and was in charge of its finance and information management.
"Baroness Manningham-Buller was awarded the DCB in the Queen's Birthday Honours in 2005 and was made a Life Peer in 2008, sitting on the cross benches in the House of Lords. In May 2009 she was appointed to the Council of Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, and she became Chair of the Council in July 2010."[1]
