Biographical Information

"Since 1975, Dr. Art Ulene has spearheaded the use of media and technology to promote public health. He appeared regularly on NBC's Today program for 23 years, and his nationally-syndicated reports were seen on more than 100 local television stations around the country.

"Dr. Ulene developed and led several national health campaigns in collaboration with the American Medical Association and other leading health groups, dealing with issues such as obesity, high blood cholesterol, allergies, immunizations, and smoking. National sponsors of these campaigns included The Kellogg Company, Kraft Foods, Fleischmann's, Kotex, Ross Laboratories, Merck & Co. and Schering Corporation.

"In 2010, Ulene founded BUCKAPOUND.com, a unique web-based weight loss and fitness program for the worksite. In his role as Chief Creative Officer, he is developing web-based programs to support healthy aging and to help individuals manage specific medical problems.

"A board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist, Ulene has served on the faculty of the University of Southern California School of Medicine and on many health-related boards, including those of the USC/Norris Cancer Hospital and the AARP Foundation. He is the author of more than 50 books and home video/audio programs about health."[1]
