Archibald R. Murray (died in 2001) "was attorney-in-chief and executive director of The Legal Aid Society from 1975 to 1994. He was the first black president of the New York State Bard Association and the second black chairman of the executive committee of the City Bar Association. He served as chancellor of the Episcopal Diocese of New York from 1975 to 1987. He was a trustee of Fordham and Columbia Universities." [1]
