"Andy is the Chief Executive of the Oil and Gas Authority, the UK’s oil and gas industry regulator set up in late 2014. The OGA co-created Vision 2035, highlighting a £920 billion value opportunity and has set out a strategic approach for the basin. In a short space of time, the OGA has worked closely with industry and government and increased production forecasts by 45%. Andy is passionate about the urgency and opportunities presented by the global energy transition and has committed the OGA to identifying new offshore energy integration potential and progressing carbon capture in line with the UK's commitment to achieve Net Zero carbon by 2050.

"Andy also serves on the boards of the Oil & Gas Technology Centre and ONE Oil, Gas and Energy and co-chairs Maggie’s Aberdeen charity fundraising board.

"Andy previously held a number of international leadership positions during a 20-year career with BG Group. He was Managing Director of Europe Exploration and Production, with a diverse portfolio including daily production of 110,000 barrels of oil, major capital development projects and exploration licences. In the United States he led a joint venture developing the prolific Marcellus shale play. Prior to this he was Chief Operating Officer in Trinidad and a Board Member of Atlantic LNG. Earlier in his career he held leadership roles in Egypt and the UK as exploration manager." [1]
