Andrew Williams

Andrew Williams "is Professor of International Relations at the University of St Andrews. His main research interests include international conflict resolution, international history, and international organization. He has worked as a consultant for international bodies, including United Nations organisations such as UNDP and UNITAR as well as collaborating on a number of projects with organisations like the United States Institute for Peace. He has also had experience of the practice of conflict resolution, most notably in Moldova.

"His book, Liberalism and War: The Victors and the Vanquished was published by Routledge in 2005. He is now working on a volume for Routledge entitled Conflict and Development. He is also the Editor of Round Table: the Commonwealth Journal of International Studies, which is the oldest journal of international relations in the world in English and which will be celebrating its Centenary in 2009-10. His most recent visiting posts have been at the Institut d’Etudes Politiques at the University of Lille 2 (2000-2005) and at the Institut de Sciences Politiques (‘Sciences po’) in Paris (2006).

"Professor Williams was the former Director of the Centre for Conflict and Peace at the University of Kent, the forerunner of the CARC, where he taught until 2006."
