Andrew H. Tisch was President and Chief Executive Officer of Lorillard Tobacco Company from 1989-1995. He has been a defense witness in cases against the industry. He was named Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Loews Board in 1998.
Biography
Andrew Tisch is a son of Laurence Tisch and brother of James S. Tisch, and joined Loews in 1971. In 1998 he was Chairman of the Management Committee of the Loews Board. He served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Lorillard, Inc. from 1990 to 1995 and was President of Bulova Corporation from 1979 to 1990. He was also Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bulova Corporation, and a Director of Canary Wharf Limited and Zale Corporation. He holds a B.S. degree from Cornell University and an M.B.A. from Harvard University.

Tisch was Chairman and Chief Operating Officer of the Lorillard Tobacco Company during the mid 1990's. Tisch testified before the House Energy and Commerce Committee, Sub-committee on Health and the Environment "Waxman hearings" on April 14, 1994, where the CEOs of the major American tobacco companies testified that they "believed" nicotine was not addictive. Tisch has knowledge of Lorillard Tobacco Company's, and the tobacco industry's, participation in public fraud and disinformation relative to health hazards of tobacco use, in the manipulation of nicotine in tobacco products and in marketing of tobacco products to children. He also served as Director for Council for Tobacco Research from 1971 through 1978. He was on the Executive Committee for Council for Tobacco Research from 1971 through 1974 and was on the Executive Committee for Tobacco Institute, Inc. from 1971 through 1977. When he was employed by Lorillard, Inc. he served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer from 1990 to 1992; served as President and Chief Executive Officer in 1993 and 1995. When he was employed by Loews Corporation, he served as Vice President from 1985 to 1991; served on the Board of Directors from 1992 to 1995.[1]
