Americans for Truth, whose full name is actually "Americans for Truth About Homosexuality," is a coalition of religious, anti-homosexual activists headed by former Washington Times reporter Peter LaBarbera, who serves at its president. The group devotes itself entirely to "exposing the homosexual activist agenda." The group's website states, "AFTAH seeks to apply the same single-minded determination to opposing the radical homosexual agenda and standing for God-ordained sexuality and the natural family as countless homosexual groups do in promoting their harmful agenda." Peter LaBarbera also worked as a policy analyst at the anti-homosexual group, the Family Research Council[1]

Anti-Southern Poverty Law Center Campaign

Americans for Truth About Homosexuality held a press conference on January 17, the day after Martin Luther King day, outside the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) to denounce the SPLC for labeling homophobic groups like Americans for Truth as hate groups. The press release states, "LaBarbera said the SPLC is engaged in a thinly-veiled, one-sided campaign to demonize adherents of traditional Judeo-Christian morality."[2]
