American Main Street Initiative
American Main Street Initiative (AMSI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit launched in 2022 by the rightwing Conservative Partnership Institute that describes itself as: "A Think Tank for Everyday Americans" that "provides unflinching, persuasive, and intellectually rigorous content in high-visibility outlets" to "shape the debate—in favor of everyday Americans, the Constitution, and the American way of life."[1][2] AMSI shares an address with Conservative Partnership Institute and was almost entirely funded by the group in 2022.
AMSI dolls out short briefs on important policy issues. So far, three stances have been published on the organization's website:[3]
- An issue that argues for a reduction in national spending, targeting Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security
- A peice that defends the criminal justice system, asserting that cops are not racist
- A critical peice on Biden's immigration policies
