The Alliance for a Sustainable Future "was established in 1996 as a nonprofit organization and received tax-exempt status in 2001. The realization that our region needed an organization to focus attention on issues of sustainability brought us together. ASF is an alliance of individuals representing many different communities, religious faiths, and advocacy groups in the Philadelphia area." [1]
