Allbritton Communications Company

Allbritton Communications Company owns and operates network-affiliated television stations serving nine markets in the United States in Washington, D.C., Virginia, Alabama, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina. All of its television stations are affiliates of ABC Network, which is owned by the Walt Disney Company. "The company also owns a 24-hour cable news channel (NewsChannel 8) that serves the Washington, DC, area. NewsChannel 8 shares facilities with the company's Washington, DC station WJLA." [1]

It also launched the online political newspaper The Politico on January 23, 2007, the day of President George W. Bush's 2007 State of the Union address.
