Alison Hastings "is a former newspaper journalist and was the editor of the Newcastle Evening Chronicle from 1996 to 2002.
"She is Vice President of the British Board of Film Classification, and is also a media consultant whose clients include Camelot and the Press Complaints Commission. She is a member of the Society of Editors.
"She previously served on the Press Complaints Commission from 1999 to 2002.
"Alison lives with her husband, David Fleming, in Birkenhead. They have five children." [1]
