On April 8, 2003, Alexis Orton was named "a junior fellow for 2003-2004 by the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in Washington, DC. ...During her internship, Orton will work alongside a senior fellow on non-proliferation issues." [1]
"Orton is an international relations major whose passion for the subject began in the fourth grade, when she wrote to servicemen aboard the USS John F. Kennedy during the Gulf War. Following the September 11, 2001 tragedy, she worked as an intern with the Department of State Task Force on Terrorism and also the department's Foreign Consequence Team. She plans to pursue graduate studies following her internships," the announcement stated.
