"Alex is a zoologist and a solicitor. He has significant experience in conservation, development and business in sub-Saharan Africa. His legal practice at Mishcon de Reya focusses on litigation and he has worked extensively in protected area management as well as international policy. He is a Fellow of the Royal Geographic Society and a trustee of Tusk Trust. Alex was recently awarded Zoological Society of London (ZSL) Conservationist of the Year for his work to protect African elephants and stop the ivory trade. In 2013, Alexander established independent NGO Stop Ivory to support five African countries to launch the Elephant Protection Initiative (EPI)." [1]
