Biographical Information

"Alan is a mechanical engineer by profession with a long career in ICI where he was CEO of a number of global businesses. He has held a number of non-executive directorships including Chairman of AECI Ltd. and Remploy Ltd. and currently Baronsmead VCT4 plc. Public appointments have included IDAB, BTC and London South Bank University. He has also acted as a consultant to companies large and small, engaged in strategy, business development, marketing, M&A and executive development. He is currently engaged with two companies developing in the Superyacht market in Palma-Mallorca. Alan is married with four children and enjoys boating, skiing, cars and golf and was awarded the CBE in 2004 for services to disabled people."
