Alan McLean
"Alan McLean is Executive Vice President Tax and Corporate Structure for Royal Dutch Shell plc, a role which he took up in July 2008. In this role he is responsible for managing the tax affairs of Shell companies around the world, and for leading the global tax function. He has worked for the Shell group in a variety of tax advisory and management positions across all of its major businesses since 1992. In those roles he has focussed primarily on matters of international direct tax, strategy, and dispute resolution.
"Prior to joining Shell, Alan worked with Coopers & Lybrand in London as a Tax Adviser. Alan is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, a member of the Tax Committee of the Confederation of British Industry, the Private Sector Vice-Chair of the EU Joint Transfer Pricing Forum, a Vice-Chair of the Business and Industry Advisory Committee to the OECD, and holds an M.A. from the University of Oxford."
