Air Permitting Forum
The Air Permitting Forum is a group organized by Chuck Knauss, an attorney with the large, global Bingham law firm. Knauss also acts as legal counsel to the group. The Air Permitting Forum represents 50 Fortune 500 companies in air quality permitting issues. The Bingham law firm was noted by Chambers UK for having a team of “finance, litigation and corporate lawyers who are dedicated to providing a seamless and responsive service to international financial institution clients.” Knauss represents corporate clients in the areas of manufacturing, energy, automotive, aerospace, pharmaceutical, chemical, paper, refinery, power generation and utilities. The Salt Lake City Tribune referred to the Air Permitting Forum as a "mysterious industry group" in a December 2010 article about how the group sought to pressure Utah regulators to weaken a new state rule on greenhouse gasses even before the regulation was finalized.
