Ahmed Rashid
Ahmed Rashid is "a Pakistani journalist and writer" "based in Lahore." Rashid "presently writes for the Daily Telegraph in London, the International Herald Tribune, the New York Review of Books, BBC Online, The Nation, and academic and foreign affairs journals. He appears regularly on international TV and radio stations such as CNN and BBC World Service." [1]
Rashid was the Central Asia, Afghanistan and Pakistan correspondent for the Far Eastern Economic Review "for 22 years until the magazine was recently [November 2006] closed down." [2][3]
In June 2008 Muhammad Idrees Ahmad noted that: "It is with some alarm and dismay that I watched Amy Goodman’s “Democracy Now” provide platform to right-wing Paksitani journalist Ahmad Rashid, long an apologist for Bush's war-on-terror, to recycle propaganda from British tabloid press and other discredited sources."
