Mr. Adotei Akwei was "Senior Advocacy Director for Africa at Amnesty International USA, serving as his organization's chief spokesperson, strategist, and liaison with the U.S. government, media, and the general public on African human rights issues and U.S. foreign policy toward Africa. A native of Ghana, he has previously worked for the Lawyer's Committee on Human Rights, as well as for the American Committee on Africa and the Africa Fund. During his fellowship, Mr. Akwei planned to write a book on governance, repression, and human rights in Africa." [1]
